About the course
Behavioural Detection Awareness (BDA) Course
BPS both trains and deploys behavioural detection officers. We run the Level 3 Behavioural Detection Officer course delivered to proactive teams in police forces across the UK and to the Metropolitan Police, and we provide BDOs to large events and venues across the UK and worldwide. This one-day course is taught by operationally credible and current behavioural detection officers, at your own venue anywhere in the UK or overseas.
Developed by Barham Protection Services for professionals who need to identify and respond to behavioural anomalies as part of their daily role, from door supervisors and close protection officers to concierges and event staff.
Assessed through live exercises, so every learner finishes the day able to apply behavioural detection in their day-to-day duties. Aligned with NPSA guidance.
Delivered by people with real-world experience of behavioural detection operations, it gives learners the essential knowledge, and live practice, to recognise behavioural threats and suspicious conduct. It is particularly relevant in safeguarding environments and public-facing roles, where early intervention can prevent harm.
