A Premier League striker's home was one of three targeted in a run of high-value burglaries. A public profile tells burglars a great deal.

Four people were charged after a run of high-value burglaries in the North East, one of them at the Northumberland home of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, whose car was also taken. Cash, designer clothes and jewellery were stolen from homes in Newcastle and Sunderland, and officers later recovered some of the property. The arrests followed joint work by the regional organised crime unit and Northumbria Police.

What it means

Burglaries of this kind are usually targeted. A house is chosen for what the burglars believe is inside it, and a public profile, a recognisable car or a post on social media can tell them a great deal.

For sports people and other public figures, home security starts with knowing what can be learned about you from outside: when the house is empty, which cars are on the drive, and who knows your routine. Our Residential Security Teams start with a thorough risk assessment of the property, and every plan is built around its layout, its particular risks and the way you live.
