Course Details:

- Duration: 2.5 Days in the classroom plus pre-course learning from home

- Assessment: E-assessments (multiple-choice questions) and practical skills assessments, offering immediate results and instant retakes if necessary
Course Overview:
This Level 2 Refresher Course is a mandatory qualification for all current Close Protection Operatives who need to renew their SIA licence from April 2026 onwards. This course replaces the previous ‘Top-Up’ training requirement and is designed to refresh and update your safety-critical skills and knowledge to meet the latest SIA standards.
Delivered at our accredited training centre in Maidstone, Kent, this essential training ensures you remain fully licensed and compliant with the Security Industry Authority (SIA) regulations.
Who Is This Course For?
This course is for all current Close Protection Operatives who need to renew their SIA licence and prefer a blended learning approach and are able to complete pre-course learning online from home.

- Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor for Close Protection Operatives
- Application of Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry
- Application of Physical Intervention Skills for Close Protection Operatives
Entry Requirements:
- Learners must be 18+ years old
- You must currently hold a valid SIA Close Protection Licence
- Must be able to communicate fluently in spoken and written English
- Must hold a valid Level 3 First Aid at Work/ECFR/FPOS/FREC3 certificate or higher (With at least 12 months currency)
- Pre-course self-study (3x small workbooks) which must be completed prior to course attendance, including ACT online training
- Participants must wear appropriate, comfortable clothing suitable for practical, scenario-based training
What to Bring:
- Two recent passport-sized photos.
- One Group A identity document (e.g., passport or full UK driving licence)
- Two Group B identity documents (e.g., utility bill, bank statement, birth certificate)
- Valid Level 3 First Aid Certificate (with minimum of 12 months validity)
- ACT Awareness and ACT Security e-learning certificates (completed within the past 12 months)
- Completed pre-course learning materials
- Laptop or tablet for e-assessments
Location:
The course takes place at our training centre at BPS HQ in The Old Brewery, Buckland Road, Miadstone, ME16 0DZ.
Terms & Conditions:
1. Course Fee and Payment: The total course is paid in full in advance upon booking through this website.
2. Non-Refundable Policy: The course fee is non-refundable. However, if a learner is unable to attend the originally booked course, they may transfer their booking to an alternative future date.
3. Attendance and Participation: Delegates are expected to attend all parts and elements of the course. Participation in live deployments are mandatory, and one or more of these deployments will be assessed.
4. Venue and Live Exercises: The course will be conducted at a training centre as advertised. You will be expected to facilitate your own method of transport to attend these courses.
5. Course Modifications: The organiser reserves the right to modify the course content, live exercises, assessments, or guest lineup accordingly in line with continual course improvements within Highfield qualification guidelines.
